Isou’s assistant coach and former prop Moore Evara said last season was a building phase for the team and they were working on certain priority areas moving forward.
“We did well in the opening matches last season but then we fell short in the middle of the season,” Evara said.
“This year we will be looking at our development programme. With the young boys coming through and the senior players we have, we are hoping to have a good combination for the season.”
Evara said they had a 40-man squad consisting of 25 senior players, including former Mendi Muruks’ Justin Yoka and Emmanuel David, and 15 others from the club’s player pathway programme.
“We just completed four weeks of intensive endurance training, also had a tri-match with the SP Hunters although we were not prepared. We are trying to get into few specifics ahead of the season,” Evara said.
He said the final squad would be announced before the season commences.
